Sura 55: Most Gracious (Al-Rahmaan) ( سورة الرحمن )
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
١:الرَّحمٰنُ
[55:1] The Most Gracious.
٢:عَلَّمَ القُرءانَ
[55:2] Teacher of the Quran.
٣:خَلَقَ الإِنسٰنَ
[55:3] Creator of the human beings.
٤:عَلَّمَهُ البَيانَ
[55:4] He taught them how to distinguish.
٥:الشَّمسُ وَالقَمَرُ بِحُسبانٍ
[55:5] The sun and the moon are perfectly calculated.
٦:وَالنَّجمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسجُدانِ
[55:6] The stars and the trees prostrate.
٧:وَالسَّماءَ رَفَعَها وَوَضَعَ الميزانَ
[55:7] He constructed the sky and established the law.
٨:أَلّا تَطغَوا فِى الميزانِ
[55:8] You shall not transgress the law.
٩:وَأَقيمُوا الوَزنَ بِالقِسطِ وَلا تُخسِرُوا الميزانَ
[55:9] You shall establish justice; do not violate the law.
١٠:وَالأَرضَ وَضَعَها لِلأَنامِ
[55:10] He created the earth for all creatures.
١١:فيها فٰكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخلُ ذاتُ الأَكمامِ
[55:11] In it there are fruits, and date palms with their hanging fruit.*

١٢:وَالحَبُّ ذُو العَصفِ وَالرَّيحانُ
[55:12] Also grains and the spices.
١٣:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:13] (O humans and jinns,) which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
١٤:خَلَقَ الإِنسٰنَ مِن صَلصٰلٍ كَالفَخّارِ
[55:14] He created the human from aged clay, like the potter’s clay.
١٥:وَخَلَقَ الجانَّ مِن مارِجٍ مِن نارٍ
[55:15] And created the jinns from blazing fire.
١٦:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:16] (O humans and jinns,) which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
١٧:رَبُّ المَشرِقَينِ وَرَبُّ المَغرِبَينِ
[55:17] Lord of the two easts and the two wests.
١٨:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:18] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
١٩:مَرَجَ البَحرَينِ يَلتَقِيانِ
[55:19] He separates the two seas where they meet.
٢٠:بَينَهُما بَرزَخٌ لا يَبغِيانِ
[55:20] A barrier is placed between them, to prevent them from transgressing.
٢١:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:21] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٢٢:يَخرُجُ مِنهُمَا اللُّؤلُؤُ وَالمَرجانُ
[55:22] Out of both of them you get pearls and coral.
٢٣:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:23] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٢٤:وَلَهُ الجَوارِ المُنشَـٔاتُ فِى البَحرِ كَالأَعلٰمِ
[55:24] He gave you ships that roam the sea like flags.
٢٥:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:25] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٢٦:كُلُّ مَن عَلَيها فانٍ
[55:26] Everyone on earth perishes.
٢٧:وَيَبقىٰ وَجهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الجَلٰلِ وَالإِكرامِ
[55:27] Only the presence of your Lord lasts. Possessor of Majesty and Honor.
٢٨:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:28] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٢٩:يَسـَٔلُهُ مَن فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ كُلَّ يَومٍ هُوَ فى شَأنٍ
[55:29] Imploring Him is everyone in the heavens and the earth. Every day He is in full control.
٣٠:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:30] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٣١:سَنَفرُغُ لَكُم أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلانِ
[55:31] We will call you to account, O humans and jinns.
٣٢:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:32] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٣٣:يٰمَعشَرَ الجِنِّ وَالإِنسِ إِنِ استَطَعتُم أَن تَنفُذوا مِن أَقطارِ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ فَانفُذوا لا تَنفُذونَ إِلّا بِسُلطٰنٍ
[55:33] O you jinns and humans, if you can penetrate the outer limits of the heavens and the earth, go ahead and penetrate. You cannot penetrate without authorization.
٣٤:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:34] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٣٥:يُرسَلُ عَلَيكُما شُواظٌ مِن نارٍ وَنُحاسٌ فَلا تَنتَصِرانِ
[55:35] You get bombarded with projectiles of fire and metal, and you cannot win.
٣٦:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:36] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٣٧:فَإِذَا انشَقَّتِ السَّماءُ فَكانَت وَردَةً كَالدِّهانِ
[55:37] When the sky disintegrates, and turns rose colored like paint.
٣٨:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:38] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٣٩:فَيَومَئِذٍ لا يُسـَٔلُ عَن ذَنبِهِ إِنسٌ وَلا جانٌّ
[55:39] On that day, no human, nor a jinn, will be asked about his sins.
٤٠:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:40] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٤١:يُعرَفُ المُجرِمونَ بِسيمٰهُم فَيُؤخَذُ بِالنَّوٰصى وَالأَقدامِ
[55:41] (This is because) the guilty will be recognized by their looks; they will be taken by the forelocks and the feet.
٤٢:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:42] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٤٣:هٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا المُجرِمونَ
[55:43] This is Gehenna that the guilty used to deny.
٤٤:يَطوفونَ بَينَها وَبَينَ حَميمٍ ءانٍ
[55:44] They will circulate between it and an intolerable inferno.*

٤٥:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:45] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٤٦:وَلِمَن خافَ مَقامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتانِ
[55:46] For those who reverence the majesty of their Lord, two gardens (one for the jinns and one for the humans).
٤٧:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:47] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٤٨:ذَواتا أَفنانٍ
[55:48] Full of provisions.
٤٩:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:49] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٥٠:فيهِما عَينانِ تَجرِيانِ
[55:50] Two springs are in them, flowing.
٥١:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:51] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٥٢:فيهِما مِن كُلِّ فٰكِهَةٍ زَوجانِ
[55:52] Of every fruit in them, two kinds.
٥٣:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:53] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٥٤:مُتَّكِـٔينَ عَلىٰ فُرُشٍ بَطائِنُها مِن إِستَبرَقٍ وَجَنَى الجَنَّتَينِ دانٍ
[55:54] While relaxing on furnishings lined with satin, the fruits are within reach.
٥٥:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:55] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٥٦:فيهِنَّ قٰصِرٰتُ الطَّرفِ لَم يَطمِثهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبلَهُم وَلا جانٌّ
[55:56] Their beautiful mates were never touched by any human or jinn.
٥٧:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:57] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٥٨:كَأَنَّهُنَّ الياقوتُ وَالمَرجانُ
[55:58] They look like gems and coral.
٥٩:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:59] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٦٠:هَل جَزاءُ الإِحسٰنِ إِلَّا الإِحسٰنُ
[55:60] Is the reward of goodness anything but goodness?
٦١:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:61] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٦٢:وَمِن دونِهِما جَنَّتانِ
[55:62] Below them are two gardens (one for the jinns and one for the humans).
٦٣فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:63] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٦٤:مُدهامَّتانِ
[55:64] Side by side.
٦٥:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:65] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٦٦:فيهِما عَينانِ نَضّاخَتانِ
[55:66] In them, wells to be pumped.
٦٧:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:67] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٦٨:فيهِما فٰكِهَةٌ وَنَخلٌ وَرُمّانٌ
[55:68] In them are fruits, date palms, and pomegranate.
٦٩:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:69] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٧٠:فيهِنَّ خَيرٰتٌ حِسانٌ
[55:70] In them are beautiful mates.
٧١:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:71] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٧٢:حورٌ مَقصورٰتٌ فِى الخِيامِ
[55:72] Confined in the tents.
٧٣:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:73] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٧٤:لَم يَطمِثهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبلَهُم وَلا جانٌّ
[55:74] No human ever touched them, nor a jinn.
٧٥:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:75] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٧٦:مُتَّكِـٔينَ عَلىٰ رَفرَفٍ خُضرٍ وَعَبقَرِىٍّ حِسانٍ
[55:76] They relax on green carpets, in beautiful surroundings.
٧٧:فَبِأَىِّ ءالاءِ رَبِّكُما تُكَذِّبانِ
[55:77] Which of your Lord’s marvels can you deny?
٧٨:تَبٰرَكَ اسمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى الجَلٰلِ وَالإِكرامِ
[55:78] Most exalted is the name of your Lord, Possessor of Majesty and Honor.
