Sura 86: The Bright Star (Al-Taareq) ( سورة الطارق )
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
١:وَالسَّماءِ وَالطّارِقِ
[86:1] By the sky and Al-Taareq.
٢:وَما أَدرىٰكَ مَا الطّارِقُ
[86:2] Do you know what Al-Taareq is?
٣:النَّجمُ الثّاقِبُ
[86:3] The bright star.
٤:إِن كُلُّ نَفسٍ لَمّا عَلَيها حافِظٌ
[86:4] Absolutely, everyone is well guarded.
٥:فَليَنظُرِ الإِنسٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
[86:5] Let the human reflect on his creation.
٦:خُلِقَ مِن ماءٍ دافِقٍ
[86:6] He was created from ejected liquid.
٧:يَخرُجُ مِن بَينِ الصُّلبِ وَالتَّرائِبِ
[86:7] From between the spine and the viscera.
٨:إِنَّهُ عَلىٰ رَجعِهِ لَقادِرٌ
[86:8] He is certainly able to resurrect him.
٩:يَومَ تُبلَى السَّرائِرُ
[86:9] The day all secrets become known.
١٠:فَما لَهُ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلا ناصِرٍ
[86:10] He will have no power, nor a helper.
١١:وَالسَّماءِ ذاتِ الرَّجعِ
[86:11] By the sky that returns (the water).
١٢:وَالأَرضِ ذاتِ الصَّدعِ
[86:12] By the earth that cracks (to grow plants).
١٣:إِنَّهُ لَقَولٌ فَصلٌ
[86:13] This is a serious narration.
١٤:وَما هُوَ بِالهَزلِ
[86:14] Not to be taken lightly.
١٥:إِنَّهُم يَكيدونَ كَيدًا
[86:15] They plot and scheme.
١٦:وَأَكيدُ كَيدًا
[86:16] But so do I.
١٧:فَمَهِّلِ الكٰفِرينَ أَمهِلهُم رُوَيدًا
[86:17] Just respite the disbelievers a short respite.
