Sura 87: The Most High (Al-A`alaa) ( سورة الأعلى )
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
١:سَبِّحِ اسمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعلَى
[87:1] Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High.
٢:الَّذى خَلَقَ فَسَوّىٰ
[87:2] He creates and shapes.
٣:وَالَّذى قَدَّرَ فَهَدىٰ
[87:3] He designs and guides.
٤:وَالَّذى أَخرَجَ المَرعىٰ
[87:4] He produces the pasture.
٥:فَجَعَلَهُ غُثاءً أَحوىٰ
[87:5] Then turns it into light hay.
٦:سَنُقرِئُكَ فَلا تَنسىٰ
[87:6] We will recite to you; do not forget.
٧:إِلّا ما شاءَ اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ يَعلَمُ الجَهرَ وَما يَخفىٰ
[87:7] Everything is in accordance with GOD‘s will; He knows what is declared, and what is hidden.
٨:وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِليُسرىٰ
[87:8] We will direct you to the easiest path.
٩:فَذَكِّر إِن نَفَعَتِ الذِّكرىٰ
[87:9] Therefore, you shall remind; perhaps the reminder will benefit.
١٠:سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخشىٰ
[87:10] The reverent will take heed.
١١:وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الأَشقَى
[87:11] The wicked will avoid it.
١٢:الَّذى يَصلَى النّارَ الكُبرىٰ
[87:12] Consequently, he will suffer the great Hellfire.
١٣:ثُمَّ لا يَموتُ فيها وَلا يَحيىٰ
[87:13] Wherein he never dies, nor stays alive.
١٤:قَد أَفلَحَ مَن تَزَكّىٰ
[87:14] Successful indeed is the one who redeems his soul.
١٥:وَذَكَرَ اسمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلّىٰ
[87:15] By remembering the name of his Lord, and observing the contact prayers (Salat).
١٦:بَل تُؤثِرونَ الحَيوٰةَ الدُّنيا
[87:16] Indeed, you are preoccupied with this first life.
١٧:وَالـٔاخِرَةُ خَيرٌ وَأَبقىٰ
[87:17] Even though the Hereafter is far better and everlasting.
١٨:إِنَّ هٰذا لَفِى الصُّحُفِ الأولىٰ
[87:18] This is recorded in the earlier teachings.
١٩:صُحُفِ إِبرٰهيمَ وَموسىٰ
[87:19] The teachings of Abraham and Moses.
